Untill 23rd of September the  documenta 12 takes place in Kassel. The documenta is one of the largest exhibitions of modern art in the world. It takes place quinquennial. You can see over 100 contemporary artists from all continents. A lot of the shown artworks have a political background and you can learn much about the problems in the artists countries. The twelfth documenta is a very astethic exhibition with a lot of beautiful artworks.

I would like to give the advice to visit the documenta.

It is worthwhile.

This is the video about social bookmarking produced by The Common Craft Show, which is an attempt at making sense in under 5 minutes. They call their format "paperworks" and think lo-fi is the new hi-fi.

enjoy it!

The project ACT! deals with the establishment of a comprehensive European evaluation network on Active Citizen-ship and Education.

The initial network consists of 10 experienced European organisations from all over Europe, from four old, two new and three candidate countries.

Our aim is to establish an interdisciplinary partnership; therefore we integrated four academic partners and six part-ners representing projects for youngsters, unemployed and disadvantaged target groups.

The projects consists of four work packages:

  • 1. Development of a comprehensive evaluation approach concerning the impact of non-formal and informal learning on Active Citizenship. We will elaborate user-friendly, transferable and adaptable evaluation method-ologies.
  • 2. Local European projects will be analysed and described by interdisciplinary workgroups (testing of the elabo-rated evaluation approaches). The results will lead to a comprehensive evaluation of the approach and meth-odology.
  • 3. Networking: We will enlarge the network and build up sustainable communication and dissemination structures and integrate major stakeholders on the local, national and European level.
  • 4. Dissemination: The developed methodologies will be transferred, new network partners will be given stages for their projects. Guidance and services will be offered and the accreditation of Active Citizenship will be fostered.

June 05, 2007

On 21st of June we have to supply the financial report about the first business year to our German financial authorities.

I take this opportunity to look at the previous year and all in all I think that we can be happy with the developments.

Since the inauguration in Marseille we have been taking part in 2 projects as official partners and as sub-contractors for valorisation activities in another 3 projects.

By now (June 2007) we produced 5 DVDs about European Educational projects (eL3, JEM, ACT, ABCD, INTEGRATION).

In June 2006 we opened our online conference room and carried out 21 online conferences with partners from 11 countries in the framework of 2 partner projects.

Early this year we opened a new field of activity: Research and Development.

blinc collaborated in the development of a research project proposal in the 7th frame programme of the EC called LC-FLOWS (Europe as a source and recipient of labor flows) that shall be coordinated by the University of Kassel.

In this connection we set up an online project development system (PDS) displaying the development steps from the first project ideas, the programme (the respective call), the logframe and work packages up to the final proposal.

We will definetely use these tools in future regularily and we are happy to offer it to our community

" Donald Fagen’s Morph The Cat is just your average soulful and sexy masterpiece about love, death and homeland defense."

This is a quote form a critique from Brian Bumbery published on DF's new website. And I must admit that it's again one of his masterpieces soulful indeed, intelligent, perfect in arrangement and sound (cristal clear and unbelievable basses) and at the same time full of moods and not clinical and cool at all.

It's like with most of their records and CDs: once you are infected you have to hear it at least 5 times a day and each time you discover a little bit more.

I'll post some (other) opinions  about Morph in this blog - and I would be happy to get your ideas as well.

Stay tuned...

Tim

Hey: Why don't you use some of the lyrics in your English lessons and make a blended learning event with your students? We're on an educational website...

At the moment we are working in a project called Active Citizenship Training and it deals with the Evaluation of the impact of non-fomal education on Active Citizenship of disadvantaged groups such as migants, victims of (domestic) violence, disabled persons etc.

You find interesting information about this project here.

In the framework of a group working on the definition of ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP we developed the so called AC-Cube. a 3-dimensional model to visualise the location of a group in the context of AC. It would be great to get a public feed-back on this theme. We also installed a blog on ACT! and you  are warmly invited to join!
